Anna Tivel is a Portland-based singer-songwriter celebrated for her vivid, narrative-driven folk music that delves into the lives of everyday people. Originally from La Conner, Washington, she moved to Portland at 18 and has since released several acclaimed albums, including Small Believer (2017), The Question (2019), Outsiders (2022), and Living Thing (2024) .

Jeffrey Martin writes songs with the depth of a novelist and the soul of a poet. Before touring full time, he spent years teaching high school English—falling in love with the chaos, curiosity, and clarity his students brought into his life. But music was always calling, and eventually, he followed it. Now a full-time touring artist, Jeffrey brings raw honesty, quiet intensity, and storytelling that lingers long after the last note. His songs feel lived-in—born from late nights, long drives, and a deep reverence for truth.

Anna Tivel, jeffrey Martin

Thursday, June 19th | 7:00PM-10:00PM

Portland singer-songwriters Anna Tivel and Jeffrey Martin bring their songs to life with poetic magic that describes events, characters, emotions, and the world around them.

Anna Tivel is a Portland, Oregon-based songwriter with a gift for turning quiet moments into vivid cinematic scenes. Known for her tender voice and painterly lyricism, Tivel crafts songs that dwell in the delicate spaces of everyday life—often focusing on overlooked characters and fragile, flickering truths. Her writing has drawn comparisons to authors as much as musicians, with each song unfolding like a short story rooted in empathy and nuance. With a violin in hand and an eye for the poetic, Tivel creates intimate soundscapes that feel both personal and universal, inviting listeners to slow down and truly see.

Jeffrey Martin is a Portland-based singer-songwriter known for his raw, poetic storytelling and quietly powerful presence. With a background in literature and a decade spent teaching high school English, Martin crafts songs that feel like short stories—deeply human, sometimes haunting, always honest. His weathered voice and stripped-down style invite listeners into a world where every lyric carries weight, often exploring themes of longing, loss, and resilience. Whether performing in hushed listening rooms or on festival stages, Martin’s music resonates with those who find beauty in simplicity and truth in song.

It is an absolute rare treat to see these two play together. This is a show not to be missed.
